    Modeling Shared Society in Israel (Video)

    Mohammad Darawshe is a leading expert on Jewish-Arab relations in Israel. He has devoted much of his personal and professional life to building a model of respectful and sustainable shared society. The events of October 7 and the Israel-Hamas War have had a unique impact on Jewish and Arab-Palestinian communities across Israel, and have posed significant challenges for intergroup relations. While the Israeli Declaration of Independence promises equality, systemic discrimination and exclusion continue to hinder integration for Israel’s 1.7 million Arab citizens. Despite challenges, success stories in healthcare, academia, and education showcase the potential for a shared society. Organizations like Givat Haviva play a critical role in fostering dialogue, reducing stereotypes, and building bridges through innovative programs in education, art, and municipal partnerships.
