Dr. Shahar Sadeh

Dr. Sadeh's passion lies in creating engaging spaces that foster challenging dialogues and partnerships across multiple sectors in civil society, government and academia. She is a scholar-practitioner in the fields of environment and peacemaking, currently serving as Adamah NY Founding Director. Adamah is the largest Jewish environmental organization in the United States, and Shahar’s work in NY focuses on mobilizing the Jewish community around environmental sustainability and climate resilience. She advocates for the decarbonization of Jewish institutions, supports them in implementing climate action plans, and empowers their communities - particularly their youth - to be environmentally aware and active.

Recently, Dr. Sadeh ended her 9 year tenure at the Jewish Community Relations Council of NY,  where she served as Director of Strategic Affairs. Since 2014 she has been leading JCRC’s Scholars as Bridge Builders program which enhances discussions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, provides knowledge and experiences to academics and creates partnerships for the Jewish community. She led many tours to Israel and the West Bank with scholars, diversity officers and university presidents. Working alongside academics, community leaders and urban experts, she spearheads the development of future facing programs and initiatives.

Dr. Sadeh was recently included in  “2023 Power of Diversity: Middle Eastern & North African 50” City and State power list. She received her degrees from Tel Aviv university, and was a visiting scholar at Columbia University, where she taught for seven years courses on environmental politics in the Middle East.
